What Is Klarna?
Klarna is a payment and credit provider that allows eligible customers to choose from available payment options when shopping online.
At checkout, the Klarna options available to you may include:
- Pay in 3: spread the cost across 3 interest-free instalments.
- Pay in 30 days: receive your order and pay for it up to 30 days later.
The exact Klarna options available will be displayed at checkout. Not every payment option will be available to every customer or for every order.
Klarna’s Pay in 3 and Pay in 30 days products entered into from 15 July 2026 are regulated Deferred Payment Credit agreements.
Klarna Financial Services UK Limited, company number 14290857, is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 987889 in relation to its regulated credit activities.
Klarna agreements entered into before 15 July 2026 may remain subject to the regulatory arrangements that applied when the agreement was made.

How Does Klarna Pay in 3 Work?
3 interest-free instalments with Klarna.
Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. Subject to status. Ts&Cs and late fees apply.
When Pay in 3 is available and approved, the cost of your order is divided into 3 instalments.
The first instalment is normally collected when your order is confirmed. The remaining instalments are then collected automatically on the dates shown in your Klarna payment schedule.
Your exact payment amounts and due dates will be displayed by Klarna before you enter into the agreement.
Pay in 3 does not charge interest when payments are made according to the agreed schedule. Late fees may apply if a payment is not made on time.
How Does Klarna Pay in 30 Days Work?
Get 30 days to pay.
Borrowing more than you can afford or paying late may negatively impact your financial status and ability to obtain credit. Subject to status. Ts&Cs and late fees apply.
When Pay in 30 days is available and approved, Klarna pays Mariposa Children’s Boutique for your order and you repay Klarna by the due date stated in your payment schedule.
Your payment due date will be shown before you confirm the agreement and will also be available through your Klarna account or app.
Pay in 30 days does not charge interest when payment is made according to the agreement. Late fees may apply if you do not pay by the due date.
Which Klarna Options Will I Be Offered?
The payment options offered are determined by Klarna and may vary according to factors including:
- The value of your order.
- Your billing and delivery information.
- Your previous payment history with Klarna.
- Your existing Klarna commitments.
- Klarna’s identity and fraud-prevention checks.
- Klarna’s creditworthiness and affordability assessment.
Mariposa Children’s Boutique cannot manually add a Klarna payment option, increase a Klarna spending amount or overturn a declined application.
How Are Klarna Payments Collected?
Klarna will display your payment method, instalment amounts and payment dates before you enter into an agreement.
Payments may be taken automatically from the card or payment method registered with Klarna.
You are responsible for ensuring that:
- Your payment details remain accurate and up to date.
- There are sufficient funds available on each due date.
- You review messages and payment reminders sent by Klarna.
- You contact Klarna promptly if you are unable to make a payment.
You may also be able to make payments early through the Klarna app or your Klarna account.
What Happens if I Miss a Klarna Payment?
If you do not make a payment on time, Klarna may take action in accordance with your credit agreement. This may include:
- Attempting to collect the payment again.
- Charging a late fee where permitted under your agreement.
- Restricting your ability to use Klarna for future purchases.
- Reporting payment information to Credit Reference Agencies.
- Contacting you about the outstanding balance.
- Referring a continuing unpaid balance to a debt collection agency.
Late or missed payments may negatively affect your financial status and your ability to obtain credit in the future.
The amount and timing of any late fee will be explained in the information and terms Klarna provides before you enter into the agreement.
If you are experiencing financial difficulty, contact Klarna as soon as possible. Klarna may be able to discuss available support or direct you to sources of free debt advice.
What Consumer Protections Apply?
Customers entering into a regulated Klarna Pay in 3 or Pay in 30 days agreement from 15 July 2026 benefit from UK consumer-credit protections.
These include:
- Clear information about the amount borrowed and how repayments work.
- Information about payment dates, possible fees and the consequences of missed payments.
- Proportionate creditworthiness and affordability assessments.
- Requirements for Klarna to treat customers fairly under the FCA’s rules and Consumer Duty.
- Support where customers experience financial difficulty.
- The right to complain to Klarna.
- The right to refer an eligible unresolved complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
- Consumer Credit Act protections where they apply to the particular agreement and purchase.
The protections that apply will depend on your agreement, the date it was entered into, the amount borrowed and the circumstances of your purchase.
What if I Have a Complaint About Klarna?
If your complaint concerns your Klarna application, credit decision, payment schedule, affordability assessment, payment collection, late fee, account restriction or credit agreement, contact Klarna directly first.
Klarna will investigate the complaint and provide information about the complaints process and any applicable escalation rights.
For eligible regulated agreements entered into from 15 July 2026, you may be able to refer an unresolved complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service after Klarna has issued its final response or has not resolved the complaint within the applicable timeframe.
If your complaint concerns a product bought from Mariposa Children’s Boutique, its delivery, condition or return, please contact us directly.
Delivery Information
Orders placed using Klarna are processed and dispatched according to our normal delivery timeframes, just like orders placed using other payment methods.
Choosing Klarna does not provide faster delivery and does not change the estimated delivery timeframe shown for an in-stock, pre-order or made-to-order item.
Can I Use Klarna for Pre-Order or Made-to-Order Items?
Klarna may be available for eligible pre-order and made-to-order purchases where it is displayed as an option at checkout.
Using Klarna does not change:
- The estimated delivery timeframe stated on the product page.
- The made-to-order or pre-order status of an item.
- Any cancellation or return exclusions that lawfully apply to personalised or made-to-order products.
- Your obligation to make payments to Klarna according to your payment schedule.
Your Klarna repayments may become due before a pre-order or made-to-order item is dispatched. Please consider the stated delivery timeframe before choosing a Klarna payment option.
Can I Use a Discount Code with Klarna?
Eligible promotional codes and discounts can be applied before choosing Klarna at checkout, subject to the terms of the promotion.
The final order total after any accepted discount will be the amount submitted to Klarna.
Gift cards and certain restricted products or transactions may not be eligible for purchase using Klarna.
Returns and Refunds with Klarna
Orders paid for using Klarna are subject to our standard returns policy, including any lawful exclusions applying to made-to-order, personalised, final-sale or non-returnable products.
If your return is accepted:
- We will process the approved refund against the original Klarna transaction.
- Klarna may adjust, cancel or recalculate remaining payments.
- Any amount already paid may be refunded through Klarna to your original payment method.
You should report your return through the Klarna app or your Klarna account where that option is available. This may allow Klarna to pause your payment while the return is being processed.
Reporting a return to Klarna does not constitute acceptance of the return by Mariposa Children’s Boutique. The item must still comply with our returns policy.
Until Klarna confirms that your payment schedule has been changed or paused, you remain responsible for making payments by the stated due dates.
Do not cancel a payment or stop paying Klarna without following Klarna’s instructions.
What Happens if My Order Is Cancelled?
If we cancel an order before it is dispatched, we will cancel or refund the payment through the original Klarna transaction.
Klarna will then update your payment schedule and refund any amount due in accordance with its processing times and your payment provider’s timescales.
If only part of an order is cancelled or refunded, Klarna may adjust the remaining payment schedule rather than refunding a particular instalment directly.
